Obsidian, A Lux novel, Book One

Are we really the only planet with life in our vast and infinite Universe? In Jennifer L. Armentrout's book, Obsidian (a work of fiction), that question is answered.

When Kat, a 16 year old book blogger, moves from Jacksonville, Fl to the remote town of Petersburg in West Visrginia, into the house she feels came "straight out of a horror movie", her life takes a turn into weirdland. She now has to be the new kid in a town so small that if you sneeze, all the citizens hear you.

Trying to cope with living in a new "city", and in a futile attempt to keep her life as close to what it used to be back in Florida, Kat finds solace and happiness through her blog and reading. When she decides to find out where the library is in the town, she knocks on her neighbor's door. The door opens and she finds a shirtless boy on the other side, with some piercing green eyes and an amazing body. Daemon treats her like crap which confuses Kat. Things start to get weirder when she notices things that Daemon and his sister Dee, do. When they blur, their skin vibrates and their eyes show white pupils, Kat or Kitten, as Daemon calls her, feels she's starting to lose her mind.

As Kat and Dee become friends and slowly she uncovers what they are, the world Kat knows is no longer the only world there is. Daemon and Kat develop a very sexually tense relationship, where the jerk you hate, is also the boy you like.

This book had me turning pages and hungrily trying to find out what made Daemon be the way he is towards Kat. What is he, how does he do the things Kat sees, but most importantly, does he really hate her? Will they eventually get together? With some very HOT scenes between Kat and Daemon, this book is a page turner that will make you wish Jenniffer L. Armentrout releases the rest of the saga yesterday.
